Don’t Be Hardheaded

“Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, but he who regards a rebuke will be honored.” Proverbs 13:18, NKJV

Many a person, including myself, has rejected wise counsel and good advice because of a hard head and a stiff neck. The Apostle Paul referred to the people he was writing to, at one point, as “a stiff necked people”, meaning they were hard headed in their rejection of the good news about Jesus Christ.

Our scripture for today warns us about rejecting wisdom and wise counsel. It warns us that trouble will come to those who dislike and reject correction, wise counsel or godly advice. They are usually too wrapped up in themselves to listen to anyone else’s advice.

Today is an all-important day in our nation. Don’t vote with a hardhead. Just vote with tender-heart to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The scripture also tells us that those who will listen to, and receive a rebuke, a correction or advice will be honored. They can correct their current direction and will save themselves much heartache.

Be encouraged today in knowing that God has great wisdom and is more than willing to offer His wisdom to us that we might change our direction and save ourselves much heartache. He put all this wisdom in a book called the Bible.

Don’t be afraid to share the wisdom you have learned from God with someone today. They may be looking for someone just like you to help them find the wisdom and direction they need in life.
