We Cannot Hide From God
“O LORD, You have searched me and known me.” Psalm 139:1, NKJV
A doctor can take an x ray of your bones and know your bones well enough to tell you if you have any broken bones. That is the purpose of the X ray machine and is very useful to doctors as they diagnose any problems that you may be having with the bones and joints in your body.
Our scripture for today tells us that the Lord has searched us and knows us. Like an x ray machine, the Lord can look at every area of our life and He knows us inside and out.
He knows us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He knows our weaknesses and our strengths. He knows every need we have, every pain we have, every fear we have, every doubt we have; simply put, He knows everything about us.
There is not one thing that He does not know about us and we cannot hide one single thing from Him.
The fact that He knows everything about us is a good thing because that means He knows exactly what we need and when we need it. Therefore, It is a waste of time and energy for us to try to hide our actions or even our thoughts from Him.
This verse brings us comfort and confidence today in that it reminds us of the great fact that God has searched every area of our life and He knows us completely. He knows if you are hurting today, He knows if you are worried today and He is ready to help. He is but one prayer away.
Do you remember the game we played as children called Hide and Seek? Someone would hide and the others would try to find them. We can try to hide from God but He always knows where we are.
