Never Mess With Your Foundation
“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11, NKJV
The most important part of any building is the foundation. It may not be what you see when you walk into a finished building or house but the beautiful finishes that catches the eye are worth no more than the foundation upon which they are built.
If the foundation fails, all the beautiful cabinetry and woodwork will not support the rest of the building.
Our scripture for today reminds us that we, as Christians, have a spiritual foundation. For Christians, it is important that our spiritual foundation is the correct foundation and the correct foundation is Jesus Christ, and no other.
Those who teach any other Savior than Jesus Christ, teaches false doctrine. Those who teach any other book than God’s word, the Bible, teach false doctrine. Those who teach any other way to heaven other than the cross of Christ teach false doctrine.
The modern day movement is to move away from the traditional Biblical teaching that is found in our traditional churches while turning to a more compromising gospel.
Churches should not yield to such temptation as to water down the gospel to become popular with the modern day culture. Churches have got to lead in such a way that the gospel of Christ is never compromised for the sake of popularity.
It is already happening that way in too many churches. As a church member, don’t settle for anything less than all the gospel of Jesus Christ.
