Remember The Good, Not The Bad
“I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.” Psalm 143:5, NKJV
I often think about the past and how good God has been to me. He has helped me through many difficult times and situations. Had it not been for God, I could not have made it through. If I face difficult times in the future, there is no doubt in my mind that God will be there for me.
Has He been good to you? I know there has been some heartache, hurt, and tragedy in the last year. That’s true for all of us; more true for some than others.
As God has helped us in the past, He will help us now and in the future. As the hymn says, “Count your many blessings and see what God has done”.
It’s easy to have a pity party and the devil will be happy to come and help you celebrate the difficulties in your life.
The best way to avoid the pity party is to remember what God has done for you in the past and how many times He has delivered you from a Red Sea experience.
Be encouraged today in knowing this; the God of the past is the God of the present and He is the God of the future.
