Someone Is Watching
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6, NKJV
Our testimony, sometimes called our witness does matter because it affects those who watch and hear what we do and say. Make no mistake about it; someone is seeing what we are doing and someone is listening to what we are saying.
Our testimony and/or witness is connected to what we say, what we do and how we act or react throughout the day.
As we speak, act or react or even post things that others will hear or see; we should first ask ourselves is this going to impact someone’s life in a negative way? And then we should ask ourselves; will this damage my testimony/witness about Christ in any way.
Our verse for today warns us about doing things, or saying things that will cause a weaker Christian or even an unsaved person to look unfavorably on Christ or His church. The penalty for doing this is pretty severe so this is really important to the Lord.
We may think it is alright for us to act in a certain way or to talk in a certain way; but what about that new or weaker Christian that is listening to our words and watching our actions?
They, most likely, might judge our Lord, our church and even our Christianity by what they see in us. Now, that is important.
Be encouraged today in know that your actions are important to others. Some might view this as an unfair burden but we must view this as a wonderful opportunity and responsibility to live out our Christianity in front of others.
