Death Is Life’s Greatest Victory
“So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 1 Corinthians 15:54, NKJV
There are many people that fear death or dying. There is even a word for their fear; “thanatophobia” or the fear of death.
Nearing their death, I have had several people say to me, “Bro. Riley, I am not afraid to die”. They did not fear death because their faith in their future was already in the hands of their Lord and Savior.
For the Christian, death is like walking into another room. There is nothing to fear as long as we have trusted Christ with our soul and have sought His salvation.
Death is but another enemy that we will have victory over. Death is not the end for the Christian but rather the first day of the rest of their life.
Be encouraged today in knowing that we, as Christians, need not fear death, either for ourselves or our loved ones.
It never seems like victory for those of us left behind. It is, indeed, victory for the one who has been released from the hurts of this life and has entered into a life with no pain, no death and no crying.
It will be our victory when we join them. Soon, and very soon, there will be a reunion in the sky and forever we will be with them in heaven. Thank you Lord!
As Jesus said, in the book of The Revelation, “Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly”.
