We are More Alike than Different
“Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-4, NKJV
Today, there are different churches, different denominations, different music, different modes of worship and a lot of other spiritual practices that might make us different.
However, there is one common thread we have that make us alike in the most important way. As long as we have Christ as the foundation of our salvation, we are more alike that some of us might want to admit.
Our verse for today tells us that, under Christ, we all come together. There are those who teach and preach universalism today and say that everyone is already good enough and sin is not that big a deal.
Nothing could be further from the gospel truth. The truth is that salvation by and from Christ is not just a way; it is the only way to heaven.
Be encouraged today in knowing that our Rock is Jesus Christ and knowing Him as our Savoir is the most important thing in our life. There’s no other way into God’s heaven except by Jesus Christ.
