The Day Of Prayer

The National Day Of Prayer

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV

Can our nation, ever get back to its biblical roots? Can our nation, ever return to the days we remember when all the news wasn’t bad news; to the days when our doors stayed unlocked; when the kids could play down the block and around the block till dark without fear?

Yes, those days are a distant memory. With recent developments within our society, it seems less likely than ever that we will ever experience those days again in our nation. How sad?

We have new challenges before us as a nation, as a people and as churches. The word that is on everybody’s lips is the word VIRUS. Deadly, silent and invisible. This is not the first virus that our nation has had to deal with and it probably won’t be our last.

Is there a way out of our dilemma? Is there a way back to a life without the presence of constant bad news.

Our scripture for today tells us there is a way back from the edge of the abyss that our nation seems to be standing at today. The way back is through God.

The path back is paved with prayer. The path back is not paved with hatred, condemnation, blame, discontent, rioting, or self-righteousness but rather with prayer.

Prayer that is humble, honest and repentant. Prayer that is not self-seeking but God honoring.

Can America turn around? I believe scripture tells us that America can turn around and walk with God again and be healed and blessed by God once again.

The question remains however; will America turn around? Only the future will reveal the truth. History is being written about America day by day. Hopefully there will pages written in the history books; that one day America turned around and went back to God.

With Blessings,
