Don’t Take Your Blessings For Granted
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James 1:17, NKJV.
It’s easy to take things for granted. We get caught up in the business of life and we just forget where all the good things in our life come from.
We can literally take anything for granted. The fresh water at the tap, the cool house in the summer, the warm house in the winter, the roof over our heads, the freedoms of our country, our children, our parents, our spouses, on and on this list could go.
And then, we hear of the mass shootings or a tragic wreck on the interstate or see a sad picture of a suffering child and we are reminded of the good things we have in our life and realize just how fragile this life is.
Our scripture reminds us that every good gift comes from God and we should treasure every breath and every day and never take any of it for granted.
God is good and God is good all the time. We have a tendency sometimes to focus on the negative and we lose sight of just how good God really is.
There are many good things in your life. Yes, I’m sure there are some difficult things in your life as well. Don’t let satan steal your joy about the good things in your life by causing you to focus on the bad things in your life.
Be encouraged today in knowing that your Heavenly Father is a good Father and give Him praise today for the good things in your life.
Count your many blessings!
