Don’t Make Things Worse
“…Do not fret–it only causes harm.” Psalm 38:8, NKJV.
The definition of the word fret is; “to express worry, discontent, or to become upset about something.”
We have probably all fretted over some situation or someone in our lives.
The question is; does it help when we fret about something or when we fret about someone?
God’s advice that we find in the scripture for today is; “fretting only causes harm to us and we should cease from our fretting.
It’s one of those things that’s easier said than done; most especially if it’s an area of our life that’s really near and dear to our hearts.
To stop fretting we will need to replace our fretting with trusting. The opposite of fretting is trusting.
Here is a scripture that might help us replace our fretting with trusting; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5, NKJV.
Fretting causes harm and does no good concerning the situation that we are fretting about.
Trust in the Lord with all our heart is the key to stop our fretting.
