Fellowship With God
“…Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3, NKJV
We understand what it means to have fellowship with another person. We see that person, we spend time with that person, we share meals with that person, that person is a regular part of our life.
This kind of fellowship happens with family and friends and other contacts that we have with people.
Our verse for today speaks of another kind of fellowship. It speaks of a fellowship with someone that we have never seen but we can feel His presence in our life. We can see His activity in our life but we have yet to set our eyes on Him.
How can we have true fellowship with someone we cannot see?
We can have fellowship with God when we pray, when we study His Word, when we give Him private and public praise and when we talk with Him throughout the day as if He was sitting in the chair next to us.
When we fellowship with family or friends, we feel closer to them and more connected to them.
The same holds true to our fellowship with God. The more we have fellowship with Him the closer we will feel to Him and the more connected to Him we will feel.
Be encouraged today in knowing that you can have true fellowship with God this very day when you pray to Him, when you study His Word, when you offer Him praise or when you just talk with Him.
