The Great American Struggle

The Great American Struggle

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears…” 2 Timothy 4:4, NKJV

I could easily speak this morning about several concerns that seem to add to and intensify “The Great American Struggle”. However, I will speak to only one concern that seems to fuel many issues that our great nation is struggling with at this moment.

The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 4:3, “The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine”. In my opinion we are seeing this prophecy become reality in our nation both spiritually and politically.

It is obvious to this ole’ preacher that by thousands, people are being drawn to and approving of “unsound doctrine” being preached in some of the mega dome churches of our nation.

It is also obvious to this ole’ American that thousands of people in this nation are looking only to destroy any thing the current president might try to do to improve this nation.  It is much more than just disagreeing with policy. It has escalated to spreading hatred and violence for polices, procedures and people that serve as elected officials.

It seems to me that many of those involved in what might be termed political anarchy would be quite willing to destroy the nation in order to have their people or party back in control.

The Bible told us that there would come a time when people would not endure sound doctrine. That could easily apply to the rejection of the spiritual wisdom and truth from God’s Word as well as guidance and wisdom from elected leaders who are trying to lead this nation in a more sensible direction.

The Great American Struggle is real and the outcome of this struggle will impact future generations to come. We must continue to pray for our nation and that Godly leaders will prevail and not be overcome by The Great American Struggle.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”, Psalm 33:12.
