Obedience Brings Blessings
“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 28:2, NKJV
The Bible has many stories of men and women who were blessed by God because of their obedience to God.
Ten lepers came to Christ, and He said, “Go and show yourselves to the priest.” They might have said, “What good is that going to do us? It was the priest that sent us away from our families.” But they said nothing; and it came to pass, that, as they went, they were healed.
Do you want the blessings of God? Then obey God. Our problem is we want the blessings of God without being obedient to God in the things He has asked to do.
Jesus said to another man, “Go to the Pool of Siloam and wash,” and as he washed, he received his sight. He was blessed in the act of obedience.
The prophet said to Naaman, “Go and dip seven times in Jordan,” and while he was dipping he was healed. Another simple act of obedience brought on the blessings of God.
Our scripture for today teaches us the great lesson that the blessings of God are directly connected to our obedience to God.
