The Badge Of Christianity
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35, NKJV
Is there some way to tell that another person is a Christian? It is not by the fact that you are a Catholic or a Protestant, not that you subscribe to some creed that man has drawn up.
We must have something better than that. What did Christ say? “By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
Do we all need a badge to wear to designate that we are a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, and so on? No, we do not need to wear a badge declaring our faith.
In our scripture for today, Jesus told us that there was one way that the world would know that we was His disciple; that we would have love for each other.
Buddhist declare that almost anything can be a God for them. Muslims declare that you must convert to Islam or die.
On the contrary, Jesus declared that Christians must love; and not just love the loveable but also to love the un-loveable.
That will be the badge of our faith; our love for a lost and dying world, just like Jesus.
