Three Essentials Of Giving Thanks
Essential Number Two – Exaltation
“You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You.” Psalm 118:28, NKJV.
The second essential of “Giving Thanks” is “Exaltation”. Exaltation is the act, either privately or publicly, of exalting God above every other false God that has been created by man.
Modern day humanism has done all that it can do to suppress the sole Deity of God. Some people want no God at all, while others want a non-gender God while others want to exalt other man-made Gods about Jehovah God of our Bible.
One of the Ten Commandments warns us, “There should be no other God before Him”.
In our Giving of Thanks, and even in our everyday life, we need to exalt the God of the Bible as the one and only true God.
In Psalm 118:28, David exalts God as God and claims Him as his God and then says, “and I will praise You”. That is how we exalt the God of the Bible. We would do well to repeat all or part of this verse on a regular basis. It’s just a word of praise to God.
In our giving of thanks this Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment and exalt God as the one and only true God.
