Something You Can Do For God
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Hebrews 13:15-16, NKJV
One of our daily goals should be to bring some kind of pleasure to God. He does so much for us every day. He gives us life and life abundantly. All that we have, we have because of Him.
Our scripture, this morning, gives us some insight on how we can please God not only today, but every day.
The fruit from lips should not be complaining but rather praise and thanksgiving for all He does for us every day of our life. Yes, we have hardships and difficulties, but we are so blessed. Let us have an attitude of thanksgiving coming from our lips daily.
Take some time today and just count your blessings. Write them down on a piece of paper and see what the Lord has done for you.
We are also told in that verse to do good things for others and to share with others. Add those things to our day and we move into the realm of pleasing God. Those acts of goodness and kindness may be a sacrifice for us. Maybe it will take away from our time. Maybe it will take away from some cash in our pocket, but it will bring great pleasure to God.
One thing you and I both should want to hear when we stand before God is; “Well done good and faithful servant”. This verse tells us how we can make that happen.
