In Times Like These
“But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68, NKJV
Wars, earthquakes, famines, floods, violence, drugs, child abuse, humanism, the occult, New Age, riots, hatred, mass killings, social upheaval, financial distress, political squabbling, global uncertainty, and even church distress; are you weary of the constant barrage of these and other unsettling events that seem to fill the air?
The Scriptures warn that world conditions will continue to get worse as we approach the end of this age and the return of Christ.
The great hymn “In Times Like These” was written during the height of World War II. “In times like these, we need a Savior”, the song says.
That song has comforted many troubled hearts during difficult tragedies and today it seems as though it is prophecy being fulfilled.
Our scripture for today reminds us that when life gets so overwhelming and so discouraging to even look at, we have a Savior that we can go to. Only Christ has the words of life.
Be encouraged today in knowing that you have a Savior that you can go to with any problem regardless of how impossible the problem may seem.
We may not know what tomorrow will bring but we do know who holds tomorrow.
With Blessings,
