A Extra Day?
“Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” James 4:14, NKJV
Leap years are years where an extra day is added to the end of the shortest month, February. The Extra day is added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical year or seasonal year. The extra day, February 29, is commonly referred to as leap day. Leap years have 366 days instead of the usual 365 days and occur almost every four years.
So, Do I get an extra day added to my life today? You get an extra day added to your calendar today but this does not guarantee you an extra day in your life.
Our lives, and the number of the days in our life, are in the hand of God. Only God controls the number of the days we have in our lives. We must not take one day of our life for granted. We are not promised even one more breath, let alone one more day.
Our scripture for today encourages us to take advantage of every day we have because we never know what tomorrow may bring.
Be encouraged today in knowing that: “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24, NKJV
