Blind Faith
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8, NKJV
Our scripture for today is a great example of the fact that sometimes we have to follow God without really knowing where He is going. It is known as blind faith.
Abraham was told to go to place where God would show Him. God would show Him the place after Abraham started on the journey. When he left, he did not knowing where he was going or even what God was going to show him.
Abraham just followed God with a blind faith trusting God every step of the way.
That is the way God wants us to follow Him; so completely trusting Him that we go when He says go and we stop when He says stop.
This goes against our human nature. We want the details before we start the journey. But then, that’s not blind faith.
We are encouraged in the Bible to walk by faith; a faith that does not have all the details but a faith that is trusting both in the journey and the outcome of the journey.
Be encouraged today in knowing that Abraham was taken care of throughout his journey with God. He didn’t know all the details but he soon realized all the blessings of God.
