The Lord Showed Up For The Pippen Family
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26, NKJV
We can attempt to go through the troubles we face in this life by ourselves or we can invite the Lord into our problems.
The scripture for today is part of the story of the death of Lazarus. He was a good friend of the Lord’s. When Lazarus got sick, the Lord was in another city busy with His ministry. They sent for the Lord but the Lord arrived after the death of Lazarus.
Even though the Lord was not present during the sickness of and the death of Lazarus, when the Lord showed up, good things happened.
The Lord showed up recently in the Pippen family. We, as a family, walked through the valley of the shadow of death as our wife, mother, and grandmother Deborah was literally in the “Shadow of Death”. In the ER, I watched as she went “unresponsive” and they took her to another room. The ER doctor came out and said “we lost her for a moment” but we got her back. After 12 days in the hospital with heart surgery, and a surgery to put 3 stents in her gallbladder, pancreas , and bile duct, we have her back home recovering. I won’t say there weren’t some dark moments because there was. But The Lord showed up just when we needed Him the most. Not a minute too early or a minute too late but exactly on time.
And, at the same time, many of you were praying for her. We cannot thank you enough. Please continue to pray for Deborah.
I would encourage you today with the truth that the same things will happen for you when the Lord shows up in your troubles. There are four good things that will happen for you when you invite the Lord into your troubles.
Comfort – “Though he may die, he shall live”.
Calm – “I am the resurrection and the life”.
Counsel – “Do you believe this”.
Confidence – “Whoever lives and believes in me shall never die”.
Are you facing troubles today? Are you walking through those troubles alone?
Be encouraged today in knowing that when you invite the Lord into those problems at least four good things will happen to you that will help you get though the problems.
