It Is An Amazing Grace
“And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 1:14, NKJV
The word grace has often been defined as, “to receive something underserved”. It could also be defined as, “not receiving something that we do deserve”; like punishment. In our verse for today, we are told that the grace of the Lord gives us two very important things for our daily life.
One, the grace of the Lord brought us faith. And oh, how we need faith. At one place in the New Testament, Paul the Apostle, said, “The just will have to walk by faith”. What a great gift the Lord gave us by His grace; faith.
There are and will be many days that we have to do just that, walk by faith. And to thank that by the grace of the Lord we have faith to do that. It is faith that saves us and it is faith that sustains us.
Second, the grace of the Lord brought us love. It is by His grace that he loves us. We are unlovable and undeserving of His love. But yet, He loves us and He can love us because of His grace.
How bad do you think you are? How sinful do you think you are? How weak do you think you are? God’s love is greater than all of these failures in your life. God’s love can cover the most horrible sin and can cover the greatest weakness.
Thank God today for His wonderful grace that gives us faith and love.
With Blessings,
