He Commands Even The Winds and Water
“But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” Like 8:25, NKJV
Some people confuse the concept of faith with positive thinking, which it is not. Others believe faith is the intense effort to attain something. “If he just had enough faith, he could have what he asks,” they say.
These descriptions are not what the Bible says about faith; which is a confident reliance upon the faithfulness of God. It is not something that is worked up by individuals but grounded in the very character of our Father in heaven.
Our faith is in God. When we are weak, we look to Him for strength. When we are afflicted, we look to the Lord for comfort. When we are in need, we look to Him to meet our need. When we want to see someone saved, we count on God’s saving power.
Faith is the connection into the inexhaustible resources of eternal God; relying on His perfect wisdom, power, and love.
The Disciples of Christ once said, “Lord increase our faith”. They wanted to have more faith. Which one of us would not like to have more faith.
Where is your faith; who do you place your faith in; how big is your faith are all important questions that we need to ask ourselves and then answer honestly.
