We’re Just Passing Through
“The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” Revelation 21:23, NKJV
This earth is not our home; we are just passing through.
This verse speaks of home. However, it’s not speaking of our earthly home that we have now but of our eternal home in heaven that we have not yet seen nor have we yet to set one foot upon its golden streets.
Though we have not seen its glory nor felt its warmth, we cannot but help look forward to it and wonder at all God has prepared for them who love Him and have accepted His Son as their Savior.
There are many beautiful and wonderful things in heaven that man’s mind will never comprehend until we step foot inside the gate.
However, there are many “no’s” in heaven that none of us will miss. Revelation 21 also speaks of; “no tears, no crying, no death, no sorrow, no pain, no sin, and no end to the days in heaven.
No wonder John, the author of Revelation, ended this great book with; “even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus”.
When we get down and discouraged with the here and now, stop and think about the there and then.
When the devil reminds you of your past, you remind him of his future and you remind him of your future in heaven.
