“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, NKJV
The purpose of a pressure-cooker is to cook food faster than conventional methods by using high pressure steam and water to create higher temperatures.
Sometimes our life can seem like a pressure-cooker. Our scripture for today seems to indicate that as well; “Hard Pressed, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down certainly sounds like Paul the Apostle had a life that was under pressure. If you ever study the life of Paul, you will see a man living under extreme pressure.
The scripture also reminds us even though our life might resemble a pressure-cooker, we are not to be “crushed”, in “despair”, or “destroyed”. Our answer is Jesus Christ.
Be encouraged today in knowing that Christ is always with you in every situation.
