“…For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” James 4:14, NKJV
In our scripture this morning, we are reminded how brief our life really is. Even if you live to an old age, when you look back on your life, you will be amazed as to how short your life really is. The Bible describes it as a “vapor”.
We might interpret this “Vapor” as describing a fog. A fog can appear for a short time and then it is gone almost as quickly as it appeared.
In our scripture, James is warning those who boast about tomorrow when there is no promise of tomorrow for any of us.
We should take full advantage of every day we have in every area of our life. Truly, this could be the last day of our life. We have no way of knowing the hour of even the day when our life might end.
Be encouraged today in knowing that a Loving God has made provisions for you to live in a place called heaven for all eternity. The provision He has made for you was the death of His son, Jesus, who died for the sins of all mankind. Do not wait one more day to ask the Lord Jesus to be your Savior.
